It's the closest to the cottage and is popular with my friends who love french wine. The property is amazing--in the mouth of Debeque Canyon and surrounded by amazing views and vines. Canyon Winds had a table and chairs for a picnic.

1.5 miles from the cottage. I LOVE Bennett Price, the founder and wine maker. He's eccentric and creative and a lot of fun. This is a newer tasting room for them. It's a super easy bike ride and right in town.

Been so awesome watching them grow! Casual night out, meeting locals and great spirits. They have a food truck out front with some good food truck eats. Enjoy a copper cabra in a copper cup. Most drinks served in mason jars. Much talked about bloody Mary's! Good think it's bike-able--1.8 miles--just across the tracks from downtown Palisade. Be prepared! Hard not to get inebriated and the local cops watch the parking lot as cars depart.

They now offer coffee and some other drinks. When they have the ice cream sandwiches be sure to get one! And if you have time order a pie! Mary's are amazing. This is the essential local, hand made, natural, charming bakery. Historically they were known for their fruit cake. I get the premola granola every time I'm there and send it to family who are not in the area. 1.7 miles from the cottage. Easy bike ride. Located in downtown (next to the Blue Pig Gallery). Closed Sundays and Mondays.

Drive or hike and enjoy a lesser known national monument. Entrances on east and west end of monument. Hiking, climbing, and viewing. Dogs are limited here as opposed to the other hiking spots recommended.

Rental bikes, Standup Paddleboards, kayaks and canoes. Rondo knows all the local trails and even teaches some classes (including for SUP). You can get maps here and some guidance.
