World class museum in Golden Gate Park - about a 30-40 minute walk or a 20 minute ride on two buses. It's right next door to the Tea Garden, and the Arboretum, so on a sunny day (or even a rainy/foggy day) these are two of the most beautiful gardens in SF. To get there: • My favorite path is: 1. Walk down Lake Street to 8th Avenue and turn right; 2. Walk South on 8th Avenue -- past California Street, past Clement Street (you can stop here and visit the Green Apple Bookstore - at 6th Avenue) - then keep walking South on 8th Avenue to Golden Gate Park. Once you cross Fulton, you are there. Cross Kennedy Drive in the park and enter the Concourse!

This is one of the wonders of San Francisco. Take the walk to Lands End and then walk all the way to Ocean Beach for one of the most spectacular experiences you can ever hope to have. It's a 20 min walk to the entrance to Lands End and another 30 minutes to Ocean Beach. Beautiful.

This is one of our favorite places in San Francisco. It's a bit of a walk, or you can take a ride share to "Stillwell Hall, 650 Mason Street" -- then follow the walk that leads through the grass parkland. It will take you to a larger walkway and the beach. If you follow that walkway East, you will eventually find your way to the Marina and the Palace of the Legion of Honor which is one of the last architectural structures from the 1915 Worlds Fair in SF. After that, you can walk to Chestnut Street and have breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Our favorite Restaurants

San Francisco offers extraordinary eating experiences, but we have our favorites that are close enough to walk to...
Irish Pub with great music and cool bartenders. It's right across the street from Green Apple Books, so grab a pint, then head over to walk the stacks looking for that ever elusive out-of-print book. They probably have it!

Pearl is a destination restaurant that is half a block away (right next to Pizetta 211-- which we will also recommend). Pearl is open 8am-2pm and 5:30-10pm Tuesday through Sunday. It is one of the best places in the city to enjoy an excellent espresso and home-made wood-fired bagels, banana bread and mimosas for breakfast and amazing dinner. You can take a chance and stop in or make reservations -- especially for weekend brunch and dinners.

This bakery has the best (actually received awards) croissants (chocolate and almond and plain) as well as morning bun, chocolate chip cookie. They open at 7 and close at 1pm and there's usually a line but it moves quickly. It is 21 blocks away -- so you can walk down Lake Street heading towards downtown or East; make a right on 6th Avenue and walk two blocks to Clement Street. Turn left and walk to Arguello. It's on your left. You will smell the chocolate and butter! OR when you leave our studio, cross the street and take the #1 California trolley to Arguello. Walk South three blocks to Clement Street. You'll see the line. It's right at the corner of Arguello and Clement. If you go on a Sunday morning, you can walk around the Farmers Market that takes place every Sunday from 8am-2pm on Clement Street. There's live music and it's lots of fun.

We love this Irish pub. Chris is the bartender most days/early evenings. Great bangers and mash. To get there, leave the studio and walk two blocks South to Geary. Take the Geary #38 bus headed downtown to Masonic (about 7 minutes.) Get off the bus and walk back down Geary one block on the South side/same side as the bus was on. It's right there on the corner.
