With so many fantastic places to eat in downtown Frederick, I've just listed the places we go to the most. They are not in any particular order. Honorable mentions for downtown Frederick are The Lazy Fish (sushi) and Sumittra Thai Cuisine (GREAT food!) We suggest you make reservations a week or two ahead of your stay. Some restaurants change their reservation policies, so hard to keep up- so its best to call.

Downtown Mt Airy. Mom & pop breakfast joint where all the locals go. Fifteen minutes away...if you don't want to head to downtown Frederick for breakfast. There is a parking lot in front of Blossom & Basket Boutique if you dont want to park on the street.

If you are in the mood for a healthy lunch or smoothie, this is where you want to go! Its 6 miles down the road in downtown Mount Airy and worth the trip. Their smoothies are fantastic, salads are fresh and veggie wraps delish!

Located in the cute town of New Market, 15 minutes away- this spot is a local favorite. Breakfast , lunch, dinner, slushy bar, bar , live music, ice cream...need I go on? Its 15 minutes away. Wineries, Breweries & Nightlife
I have two offerings for bars downtown , as a lot of restaurants have a bar. The remainder of recommendations are for local Wineries & Breweries that I have been to. There are a LOT of breweries, wineries & distilleries in Frederick that are not on my list...only because I haven't gone yet...and to many to name. Live music and food truck ' events' often change, so check their websites to make sure that what you want to do there is happening.
The downstairs patio seating is the best people watching around! Great food- love the pizza and salads. If you like Orange Crushes- you're welcome in advance! The beers are great too. Young bar scene....great spot to stop in for a drink and/or a meal.

Its 1.3 miles away and a fabulous winery! Very cozy & classy. I recommend reserving a table, which you can do on their website. Check their website for food trucks. They also have fantastic cheese plates. Wines are on the heavy side.

Make Loew Vineyards one of your 'pits stops'....Yes!...its .8 miles away….yippee! They have an interesting back story, and I encourage you to google them. Its very much a family affair that spans generations.They are open Friday 1pm to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 5 pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm. The tasting room is small with very little seating options...but definatley worth the trip for a tasting. Its too close to us to pass up.

Hidden Hills is 5 miles down the road. Their tasting room is cozy. Fabulous views and great wine...but my favorite is the wine slushy! YUM!

Milkhouse is right around the corner! I HIGHLY recommend this spot, especially if the weather is wonderful. This is THE spot to watch the sunset. This winery a 17 minute drive. Owned by three thirty-something siblings, Old Westminster Winery has some very creative wines & cocktails. Its not your typical winery in that regard. Its also worth the trip on its own, as the wines are great and its small & tucked away for a very cozy, laid back, relaxing feel. There are very limited food/snack options here, so keep that in mind when planning your day. This is a definite 'chill' spot.
