A must see! The most popular state park & free! Built to protect Beaufort's harbor in the 1830s with a great visitors' center. The fort itself is well preserved with a panoramic ocean view. Has a good beach with parking too.

Our closest beach. Plenty of parking, bathhouse, usually calmer waters for swimming than the ocean.Not much sand at high tide.Great walking & view from Beaufort to the ocean with boats going by.

Hop on a ferry from Front Street to the island you see in front of you to see wild horses, a great beach & not much else. No development whatsoever!

Gives you a real good feelingof the history of this place. The double decker bus tour is great too. In the visitor center is all the tourist information for this area and they have lots of events going on all the time. A good art gallery also.
