This beloved North Tonawanda chocolate purveyor recently relocated to the converted factory building where Wurlitzer organs and jukeboxes were once made. Now you can buy the addictive Buffalo-area speciality: chocolate covered sponge candy, have an ice cream, coffee and see the candy making space through the big plate glass windows. It is also up the street from our favorite local grocery store Wegmans, where you can buy provisions for cooking meals while you're here.

We love the view of the old Erie Canal from the windows and the classic food with a gourmet twist. Had a very nice wild salmon and risotto dinner the other night. It's a crowded space with big old historic photos of the canal and friendly service. Two more, great waterfront options Remington Tavern across the street, which specializes in Italian and seafood. Smoke on the Water, just over the bridge, takes pride in its smoked meats. Very good smoked turkey club sandwich.

Every child I have taken here loves the place with the carrousel, outdoor rides and indoor activity tables. Adults like me are fascinated by the fun and history. Lovingly restored, assembled and maintained by a team of wonderful volunteers. Don't miss this!! They will even open on closed days if you call ahead and make arrangements.

Don't miss this!! Saturdays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and perhaps Sundays. Great produce, maple syrup, local dairy, baked goods and, if you get there early enough on a Saturday, fresh apple cider donuts made and fried while you watch.
