This independent Cafe has Wi fi, ,is fully licenced, environmentally conscious and supports local producers. The owner also offers creative events .We attended a paint night here. A visiting artist guided us through the process of creating a simple masterpiece on canvas? Anyhow, it was a very enjoyable evening. (7-10 mins drive from cottage)

It is 202 kilometers long.( Wikipedia) Running alongside the landmark Chateau Laurier hotel in downtown Ottawa the picturesque views and lovely walks around the base of the canal are sure to relax. A water Taxi can be found leaving from the base of the locks to cross the river to the most beautiful museum on the Quebec side of the border.

The setting alone is worth the visit. The patio opens onto a cobblestone courtyard, decked out with trees and lights, creating mood and memories as well as any European setting.
The food is locally sourced whenever possible and the menu changes seasonally. My absolute favorite dish is the Duck confit. The short ribs are melt in your mouth... delicious everything we have tried has always been lovely. The service is unhurried and the waiters are relaxed and attentive. If you want a a special meal without breaking the bank This is it!
