Windham path is our family’s most favorite place to visit. It is a breathtaking flat trail that is in a shape of a loop and takes about an hour to navigate. It is surrounded by mountains and unique flowers and plants. By the time we make to the end we always feel rejuvenated. It is a popular place so please bring a mask with you. The first phase of the Windham Path is a 1.5 mile loop accessed by a parking area on Route 23 and the second phase is a ½ mile section that connects the business area of South Street and Route 296 to the first phase loop. The Windham Path provides the only public access to the Batavia Kill stream in Windham and meanders through meadows and woodlands and across bridges providing fantastic views of the Great Northern Catskills. Make a point to take a break during your ride or walk to enjoy the gem of the Windham Path, the magnificent and picturesque covered bridge that spans the Batavia Kill stream.

This state park covers hundreds of acres of beautiful mountains and land. It has game fiends and also the cleanest public pool you will visit. It is very well maintained. Mine Kill State Park is a 500-acre (2.0 km2) state park located in Schoharie County, New York, United States.[2] The park is in the southeast part of the Town of Blenheim. Mine Kill State Park opened in 1973.[3] It is named for Mine Kill Creek, which runs through a narrow gorge in the park and features the 80-foot (24 m) Mine Kill Falls. The park is located adjacent to the Blenheim-Gilboa Reservoir and its inflow, Schoharie Creek.[1][5] Mine Kill offers year-round recreation, including snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing (trout and walleye), boating, hiking, mountain-biking, and swimming. The park features an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a diving pool, a wading pool, and a bath house. On site, is also a 18-hole disc golf course. Located at the park is a pavilion which may be rented for private parties. There is a playground, numerous picnic tables, and charcoal grills on site.[1] Among the park's 6.5 miles (10.5 km) of trails is a 3.5-mile (5.6 km) section of the Long Path.[6] Starting in 2015, fees for parking and swimming at the park were waived for all visitors. The elimination of the fees was accomplished through an agreement with the New York Power Authority, who will compensate the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation $20,000 annually to offset lost revenue. Fees will continue to be charged for camping and picnic shelter reservations.[6]

Schoharie Creek in New York, flows north 93 miles (150 km)[2] from the foot of Indian Head Mountain in the Catskills through the Schoharie Valley to the Mohawk River. It is twice impounded north of Prattsville to create New York City's Schoharie Reservoir and the Blenheim-Gilboa Power Project. During the American Revolutionary War, Iroquois Indian attacks against the cluster of farms in the valley of the Cobleskill Creek tributary was the site of the Cobleskill Massacre (May 1778), virtually depopulating settlements in the southern Mohawk valley. News of this and two other mixed Tory-Indian guerrilla attacks lead to an appropriation of funds for the Sullivan Expedition dispatched by General Washington in 1779 to break the threat of Indian raids. The Erie Canal crossed over the creek by an aqueduct at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site. Two notable bridge collapses have occurred on the Schoharie Creek. In 1987, two spans of the New York State Thruway collapsed. On August 28, 2011, the covered Old Blenheim Bridge collapsed due to flooding from Hurricane Irene.

FOOD IN WINDHAM

We recently discovered this relatively new place. The chef is of Thai background and offers variety of cultural cuisines that appeal to many generations and tastes. There are also delicious Asian inspired daily specials. Last time we visited at the end of July we ordered extra helping of tacos that were sooo good. Our children enjoyed gorgeous bowls of gourmet macaroni and cheese and we also loved Cuban sandwiches. The decor is a blend of rustic and industrial with unique creative accents like embroidered lamp covers and custom made lighting at top of bar.

We have been coming here for the last 4 years. It is a simple but welcoming pizza parlor on the main street of Windham that now offers both Italian/Greek and Mexican menus. The pizza, soups, chicken wings and lemon soup are wonderful. The staff always remembers you and kept up the social conversation while providing quality service. They do not deliver but very quick to fill phone orders.
