A great place to take pictures. Once VERY well hidden from tourists, now it is even labeled with a sign. CAUTION: Water is coldish year around. Diving from cliffs and sliding down granite slopes with water flow IS dangerous.

Sightseeing
Smith Peak Fire Lookout, Stanislaus National Forest/Groveland, CA
Trailhead: Park at the Pines Campground then hike up to the peak along the dirt road. The hike is 4 miles round trip. Most times of year this road is open to vehicles, so if you drive higher on unpaved road slowly your hike will be just 1 mile. Nice views around, and parking should be FREE.
CAUTION: There can be rattle snakes, thus stay on the road and supervise kids. I saw a snake just once, rattling pretty loud, and it moved out of my way quick.

The main beach (the largest one of 3 beaches on Pine Mountain lake) has this good cafe open warm time of the year. It's affordable, with well planned menu, and professionally ran.
THE GRILL Restaurant & 19th Hole Lounge are Open to the Public: 2765 Mueller Drive, Groveland, CA 95321 This is the Groveland's version of a fancy restaurant.
Call (209) 962-8638 with The Grill inquiries (reservation might be required during certain times of year.) You must drive to The Grill from inside the community, from main guarded gate- else GPS will take you to a closed gate!
