The sight of children searching for shells among the pebbles, couples gazing out to sea from the alconies of their rented rooms, sun-burned mothers wheeling push-chairs up and down - this attractive little bay definetly offers a family atmosphere. It is mainly visited by tourists renting rooms nearby, but families of local people also come out with their umbrellas and settle themselves on the no-charge section in the centre of the beach. The right-hand side of the beach has large pebbles, while to the left there is sand. If you choose to swim at the far right end of the beach you will have a good view of the Feraklos castle. Fine, wet sand and some canteens - this is the only thing you will find on Agathi. It is a beautiful, sheltered, cosy beach, and the only sign of civilization are its canteens, all of them offering more or less the same food - fried eggs, English breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, salads, French fries and souvlaki. Camping is possible there, so take your sleeping bag and camp at the cave which is at the end of the beach. An ideal spot to spend the night. To get to the beach, follow the signs from Haraki (10 minutes along a passable dirt road). Half way along the road you come upon the mediaeval castle of Feraklos. To reach Prasonisi you will have to drive all the way to the most south part of the island. It is one of the most impressive beaches on the island. Two sandy coves ending in an island that you can reach on foot or by swimming, depending on the weather and the level of the water. SEVEN SPRINGS This is a true oasis that you wouldn’t expect to see on an island that has no rain fall during the entire summer. You can actually count one by one the seven springs that the place has taken its name from and if you are a thrill seeker, and brave enough, take a walk trough a tunnel 180 meters long. Follow the water bare foot to its destination which is a small pond in the forest, an exciting experience that is only a 25 min drive from Rhodes.

Kolymbia (Kolympia) is a place perfect for a quiet family vacation. It is a low profile seaside resort, with neither the luxury of Ixia nor the intensity of Faliraki, and thanks to the nearby Seven Springs (Epta Piges) it is very green. Its location midway between Rhodes make it an ideal resort for those who want to enjoy both these cosmopolitan centres. To enter Kolymbia (Kolympia) you come along a fresh, lush green Eucalyptus Road. This road was built by the Italians also. Kolymbia (Kolympia) is a fairly discreet coastal resort, and does not provide the ostentatious luxury of Ixia or the frenzied activity of Faliraki. a few well-run restaurants and tavernas, a shopping centre with more or less anything you need (mini markets, bakeries, patisseries and cash machines) - these are the main features of what is in fact the most contemporary and stylish tourist resort on Rhodes. Kiotari has grown up over the last ten years along an impressive, vast beach, but does not suffer from the same tourist saturation which has negatively affected many of the other traditional resorts of Rhodes. You will find no real community here, just shops and hotels, most of which operate the all-inclusive system, and thus their guests spend almost the whole of their days within the hotel's facilities and on their private beaches.
