There are some great river-side pubs, or you can dive into the craft stalls in the wonderful Greenwich Market and soak up the atmosphere and take your pick from one of the plethora of food stalls.
It's a brilliant day out although you'll need to return again if you're to take everything in!

Speedy access to Central London
The apartment is directly opposite Plaistow Underground Station which lies on the District and Hammersmith and City Lines.
You can be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.
It's fairly easy to use the London Underground. You can purchase single/return tickets or daily/weekly travel cards from machines in the stations.
Alternatively you can buy an Oyster Card or register your credit/debit card with transport for London and then tap in and out of buses, trains and the Underground. There are more details here:

Stansted Airport
If you're arriving at Stansted Airport it will take you around and hour and a half to get to the apartment.
Take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street (a 45 minute journey):

Then transfer to the London Underground and take the Hammersmith & City Line East to Plaistow Underground Station (about 15 minutes).
The journey costs around £21.

Gatwick Airport
It takes about an hour and a quarter to get too the apartment from Gatwick Airport.
Take a train to London Bridge (the train destination is usually Cambridge), then change to the London Underground and take the Jubilee Line to West Ham Station. Change again onto the District Line for one stop to Plaistow Underground Station. The apartment is just across the road.
The journey costs about £11.

Heathrow Airport
The journey to the apartment from Heathrow takes about an hour and a quarter.
Take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station and then transfer to the London Underground System. Take the Hammersmith & City Line East to Plaistow Tube Station.

If you'd like a cheaper option (about an hour and a half), you can take the Underground from the airport. Take the Piccadilly Line to Hammersmith and then change onto the Hammersmith and City Line to Plaistow Station. The apartment is just across the road.
