Sightseeing

We love this place because it is an easy and fun hike for all ages. The trail splits off at the hoodoos and there are many options for exploration. At about 25 minutes away, it is one of the closer hikes in the area. And the best part? It’s not usually crowded. We like going an hour before sunset to catch the beautiful views.

We like this as a quick morning hike to get the blood flowing. At 15 minutes from the house it is accessible and a good hike for all ages. We like this hike because it is another less traveled trail with views of the lake, the dam and even the town. From here you can hike down to the waters edge for a swim, bike the rim view trail or just have one last look on your way out of town.

Pow Wow Trading Post

Local pawn shop in downtown Page selling jewelry and Native American artifacts. A fun spot to spend an hour in if you like Native American jewelry. Most other shops in town are really geared towards the tourism, we feel this place is the most authentic.

Where to eat

There are only a handful of restaurants in Page and not much variety. Here are our suggestions. We like the vibe at State 48 and you would be hard pressed to find better food in this tiny town. It’s pub food (so don’t get your hopes too high) burgers, chicken wings, basic salads, and one option for vegetarians: a portobello sandwich. Big John’s Texas BBQ is another option, as long as you have no vegetarians with you. The BBQ is decent but beware the lines! If you are traveling in the peak season, we recommend going a bit earlier than you normally would. This place really gets crowded.

Glen Canyon Conservancy

The conservancy is located in downtown Page and is host to a giant wooden model of Lake Powell and surrounding area. The employees there are incredibly helpful and this would be the place to visit if you are looking for information on local adventures. The shop also has some souvenirs and interesting reads, as well as art made by locals.

Lake Powell

Did you know we are only 10 minutes from the lake? There are many ways to access the beauty of the lake and we feel it is an experience that is not to be missed! Check out Lake Powell Paddleboards and Kayaks to get out on the lake and see Antelope Canyon from the water. On a budget? Head over The Chains and hike down to the waters edge for a view of Glen Canyon Dam that we feel cant be missed. It’s also a great spot to swim in the summer.
