Brunch Recommendations
Trendy upscale classic French Brassiere in the area. Cozy. Usually a wait if no reservation (so expect to go and put your name in and come back in an hour when no reservation). If never been, it’s a must go simply because it’s a “New York establishment” when it comes to local restaurants here. Every New Yorker whose anyone has dinned here at some point. Period. At least anyone whose been social and knows their restaurants. Tables can be made in advance on the OpenTable app. Also a very cute spot for dinner (will definitely be a wait or need a reservation but can put name down). I always go here with my mom when she visits me in New York usually for dinner (But I’ve also been here with friends, and on dates in the past)! They have great salads, AMAZING fries, french onion soup is on point here, Bronzino is great, great oysters, amazing filet minon and steak (Although I really have cut out most red meat in my life it is very good here from what remember!)... great pancakes for brunch and Eggs Benedict/ eggs Florentine. Pretty much everything here is amazing, it’s not a crazy priced restaurant for New York but it’s also not inexpensive so just check the menu online... New york is Expensive in general but most of the restaurants I’m recommending are worth your money (If you’re going to spend your money on a meal New York City and Paris are the places to do it)!!!

Smoked fish, housemade bagels & other appetizing fare offered in a buzzy, vintage-style spot. Great Bagels, smoked salmon, cavair and brunch. Not the cheapest but definitely the best in this area. New Yorkers love their bagels and lox. If you want to just as good of an option thats also close I’d recommend Russ & Daughters bagel shop which is a Family-owned shop offering high-end smoked fish, caviar & New York-style specialty foods since 1914. Russ and Daughters actually might even be better but the issue is there is no seating really so am recommending Sadelle’s. However if just looking for a snack to go and have a true deli experience than I recommend Russ and Daughters instead. Both are amazing.

A personal favorite (I’m a sucker for anything Swiss related is usually is pretty great)! Charming Café Select specializes in Swiss-style food, from muesli pancakes to rösti (round, crisp hash browns) and bratwurst or fondue and escargot is actually amazing here and I do not usually order escargot. From coffee (if there for brunch) or an Aperol spritz in afternoon or a glass of red wine at dinner I love this place. . Also a great place to have dinner and wine/ fondue as well.

Quality!!!! Probably my first recommendation for brunch. Beautiful little restaurant and cozy all at the same time- great food and quality. Amazing shop is attached you should look at (Roman and Williams- famous architects so have some pretty cool things things there). Also fantastic cool floral arrangements since Emily Thompson flowers is also in the space). This is a must go to! And personal favorite.

French fare brunch menu has a creative, modern makeover at this stylish new york city bistro with floor-to-ceiling windows... it is very cute spot and cozy. This is probably the farthest brunch restaurant I listed as its a 5 min cab or uber and maybe a 10-15 min walk (but it is a great walk passing a lot of great stores).

Regional American fare (including oysters and much-hyped fried chicken) in a lively, modern space. Recommend for weekend brunch or dinner in winter months. Cozy spot. I used to come here a lot when I First moved to New York. It’s a great spot yeah I feel like you will not run into a ton of tourist her either.

From a legendary appetizing shop comes this retro, full-service outpost serving Jewish comfort food. Go visit the shop before you go to the restaurant (please note before you go here that the shop and restaurant are different buildings but very close). The shop was started in 1904 and is a CLASSIC New York jewish deli (probably the best)! If you’re looking for a brunch place with real Jewish comfort food, then Russ & Daughters Cafe is your place. Located on Orchard Street (the shop/ deli is off of Houston street go there first to just experience a New York classic deli- AMAZING), this Lower East Side retro spot is not far from the Williamsburg Brooklyn bridge and is sure to make your bagel dreams come true. Russ & Daughters Cafe is a popular brunch spot in New York City, so be sure to get there early or be prepared to wait in line come brunch time.

Since there has to be another French brunch option on this list, I’ll give you Dirty French. If you like your breakfast sweet and loaded with freshly baked bread, then Dirty French’s brunch is what you’ve been looking for. This trendy edgy located brasserie promises chic French decor and food that will satisfy your European-inclined cravings. Great cocktails.

Love this place. Really cool design and vibes here. It’s a 3 min walk from the apartment. Probably the best hotel downtown Manhattan (my opinion). But not the least expensive (LOL). But, Amazing brunch spot. I have been here and seen a brunch of celebrities here (saw Kim Kardashian here once). Awesome spot. Quality crowd Always. Also awesome place to go in evening... many bars in New York are so loud you can barley hear and this is not which is rare to find in New York. It’s nice and low key.
