Clover Cafe and Wine Bar-A new venture by London chef/restaurateur, Lynne Sanders, is set to open in early 2022. Nestled in the Sierra Foothills, this charming region of natural beauty has many local secrets to be uncovered, with it's rich tapestry of vineyards, olive groves, rolling farmland, lush orchards, lakes and rivers.
Clover draws from this abundance to create a menu of seasonal, local "California garden cuisine" - fresh and sunny fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised organic meats, local game, Pacific fish and seafood, and of course, a strong highlight on the earthy local wines and delightful craft beers. The area has several well established wineries such as Clos Saron Winery, Grant and Marie Winery, and Frenchtown Farms Winery. It is also known for it's excellent olive oils from award winning producers such as Apollo Olive Oil. Sierra Brewery is just one of many excellent craft beer producers that we will have on draft.
With many organic vegetable growers in the area, it offers fresh organic cold-pressed juices, colorful salads, and a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as delicious baked goods, pastries and home made breads. With a French-trained chef at the helm we will certainly be exploring the local farms for grass fed beef, lamb and pork, organic free-range poultry and game and it comes in season.
Clover is strategically placed to serve the many visitors coming through the area to enjoy the numerous natural recreational areas for hiking, camping, boating and swimming at the area's lakes and camping sites such as Bullard's Bar, Collin's Lake, Lake Francis, Thousand Trails and all along the Yuba River. Clover will be open all day 7am to 5pm for coffee, drinks, snacks or full meals. Styled after an English country pub, we will offer an informal counter service, a relaxed and cosy interior, and charming outdoor dining.
