Mount Edgcumbe is about a mile from the cottage and quite possible to walk there if you’re well prepared. A beautiful place to visit which has a public footpath that runs round the estate that overlooks Plymouth Hoe where the annual firework competition is held. A fantastic spot to see the displays without having to venture into Plymouth itself.

Long long beaches

The beaches are beautiful here but the trek to get to them is a challenging one for young families or people unsteady on their feet. There is a car park at the top of the hill but most people tend to park on the verge.

Strolling along!

The Kingsand Grade 11 listed Clock tower has become a popular tourist attraction since it was reopened in 2015 after it was close to slipping into the sea when hit by the devastating storm in 2014

Trains and cars.

It’s quite possible to travel around Cornwall by train as a regular service that goes through most of the small towns is available for most of the year. However all places of interest are accessible by car. Many roads are very narrow so vigilant driving should be maintained! There are plenty of car parks available but ticket prices do range from a few pence to quite a few pounds per hour. Most pay and displays however are now available to pay through various apps from your phones.
