For anyone interested in the history of World War II, then a visit to Oradour-sur-Glane is a must.
This village was attacked by a Nazi SS Unit during World War II, where they rounded up and slaughtered about 450 residents. The village has been preserved as a reminder of this terrible event. On-site is a museum and you will have an opportunity to walk through the village. It is a very humbling experience.

It now boasts a water park with water slides and indoor and outdoor swimming pools for the kids (and adults) to enjoy. There are pedalos and canoes for hire ans one of the beaches offers wake boarding. There is also a treetop adventure course for those who dare!
