Sightseeing

Sights to see in the Bryce Canyon and Grand Staircase area.
Truly amazing and extra-ordinary rock formations, sculpted by eons of wind and water into narrow canyons and hoodoos. There is no place like it anywhere else on earth. If your time is short, visit the four view points around the main canyon amphitheater: Bryce Point, Inspiration Point, Sunset Point, and Sunrise Point. If you have time, hike the Navajo Loop trail, Queens Garden trail, and Peekaboo trail. For a longer visit, see all the view points along the highway, to where it ends at Rainbow Point. See the park map for all the trails and viewpoints.

Family-friendly slot canyon in the Grand Staircase National Monument. Easy access, not too strenuous, beautiful little canyon. Be sure to go to the end of the slots, because the canyon widens out several times, making it seem like you have come to the end, but then it enters another narrow section. You know you've reached the end of the last slot canyon section when you see a rough natural arch on the left canyon wall, and another intersecting dry canyon on the left just beyond that. Total hiking distance, round trip: about 1 mile.
