This is a family favorite because of the food and the unique minimalist interior designed by ALEXANDER GIRARD. Walk through all the rooms there are a few charming decorative surprises. It’s a museum of sorts because is showcases, so well, what his aesthetic was back in the day AND how it is completely relevant still. This place has been around forever (1966) and although the menu has changed the interior has hardly changed and we hope it never does. Follow this experience up with a trip to the FOLK ART MUSEUM and look at the the huge collection room of Mr & Mrs Girard. If you are really crazy about this man’s work there is a mural of his at the COLLEGE OF SANTA FE that is work sitting in front of for a bit. Also a huge glorious book of his is out there. THIS IS NOT CHEAP EATS, we save this place for birthdays & anniversaries. If you want to go and spend less of a fortune eat in the bar off the bar menu...reservations are a good idea.

In warmer seasons the front patio hosts musicians, and it is quite the event. Reservations a good idea if the take them. Early or later you can probably walk in and get a table. Santa Fe Local hack: stay away from their frozen margaritas, order the “silver coin” on the rocks with salt. For the past 20 years every couple we know in this town has gotten arguementative after imbibing in the frozens. We blame it on the high sugar content & the cheap tequila.
