Where The Brontes lived. This is a place where you will feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Timeless and quaint. The Parsonage is worth a visit and is an in-depth insight into how The Brontes lived. Lots of places to eat and drink. Every May they have a 1940’s weekend where you can dress up in the fashion of that era where you’ll hear the music and feel the nostalgia of that time. By the way these photos on here do not do it justice! Try our friend Google and see more photos on there. It’s a scenic drive over which should take you approximately 30/40 minutes.

This is a village to visit where you will find lots of independent shops and a specialty supermarket called Booths offering delicious cheeses, meats, wine and much more. The Heritage Centre is a favourite of mine to eat, drink, relax and enjoy the surrounding gardens and parks. Approximately a 15 minute drive.

There are lots of reasons to visit Skipton. It’s voted twice by The Sunday Times as the best place in England to live. There’s a castle there and it’s a nice day out to shop, eat and just enjoy being in a market town in North Yorkshire. Approximately 20 minute drive.

This is a beautiful drive over probably taking you around 30 minutes. Perfect place to walk and explore and take photos of the Abbey and there are some nice villages in this area with pubs serving yummy food. Appletreewick is the one I’ve eaten out and it’s a perfect place to relax after a few hours of walking.

Embsay is in Skipton, and it’s where you can catch a steam train where it can take you to Bolton Abbey which is a beautiful sight seeing journey. There’s a vintage cafe and a gift shop too which are really delightful.

Towneley Hall as I know it. A lovely place to visit with a super cafe and a charming woodland walk.

Bonny Colne as it is known to the locals. Colne highstreet is vibrant and full of friendly folk. You’ll always hear happy greetings around you in the street and is a town full of independent shops, pubs and quirky cafes. There are 2 popular theatres and the surrounding countryside is spectacular.. You will notice remembrance references to Wallace Hartley around the Colne centre. He was one of the band members of the Titanic who selflessly carried on playing with his band until the fateful final hours. There is a pub serving good food too named after him. There used to be a museum next to the Parish Church (beautiful church) but unfortunately due to ‘cut backs’ it is no longer there.
