Sightseeing

Grab a glass of wine and walk west towards the sunset. At the t-section turn right. It’s only a short stroll and you will be delighted by the view. A great place to start your day as well. You can walk along the foreshore. The lake is really shallow, great for fishing and perfect for the canoe (more than 100m from shore on enclosed waters you will need a life jacket)
Wooloweyah Lagoon

Yuraygir National Park Fire Trail One of our favourite things to do is to walk up the fire trail behind the tennis courts. You can access the trail by turning right at the tennis courts on Pegus Drive and you will see the trail on your left. Its a bit of a sandy climb but a beautiful view not many people (except Wooloweyah locals) really get to experience.

Angourie blue & green pools Angourie’s Blue Pool was once a rock quarry that ran across a slight problem. When an underground freshwater spring was disturbed it was suddenly transformed into an aquatic haven. What luck! The pools are fresh water and are subject to algal blooms, especially over the warmer months and may not be suitable for swimming at times. If the pools are closed, you can still swim in the large saltwater rock pool beside the Blue Pool - it’s sensational at high tide and perfect for floating around all day long.

Beach and surf

Angourie Headland and Angourie Point If you surf you’ll know all about Angourie Point. It’s now a National Surfing Reserve, recognised for its significance to the pastime. It’s a special place to visit, and even non-surfers can sense the unique energy of this place. Angourie’s grassy headland. A perfect vantage point view to the township of Yamba and across Yuraygir National Park. Have a dip in the corner of Angourie back beach followed by a picnic on the headland is one of our favourite things to do in summer and spring.
