Local Attraction
This is a natural spring fed local swimming pool that is an Austin favorite. The water is cold and clean year round and the admission rates are exceptionally reasonable. It's walk-able from the house and really something worth trying.

Avoid driving
The house is located close enough to the city that Uber / Lyft / Taxis into town are extremely reasonable. In fact the bus stops very close to the house and will take you right into town (take the 18). The public transit in Austin is safe, and clean. I have used it repeatedly since I've moved here. Driving downtown can be difficult at times and the city is very walk-able. So if you can, elect not to drive.

Saturday morning Sustainable Foods Coop Farmers Market
Located at 5th and Guadalupe, this is easily my favorite farmers market in all of Austin. This event occurs almost every single Saturday starting at 9AM and goes til about noon. Parking is free and there's no better way to get to meet the local ranchers and farmers from the surrounding area who really are the heart and soul of Texas. There is plenty of food to eat there, or by some fresh ingredients and head back to the house to cook up a tasty meal.
