Awsome place. Lots of fun. They serve alligator. They have stuffed Moose and Deer on the walls. There is a pirate statue and an Alligator on stage. Live music from time to time. Really fun and good food.

230 acres of land for public hunting, hiking, nature viewing and a historic railroad tunnel.
While the tunnel itself has been walled off for years now, the entrance and walk along the tracks is beautiful. The trails are mostly either mowed grass or herd path along the way to the tunnel. Half way through the hike, the path drops right onto the old train tracks and heads to the tunnel.
The Winston Tunnel was built in 1888 for the Minnesota and Northwestern Railroad, a line that ran from Chicago to Minneapolis, Omaha and Kansas City.
This is a two-mile hike over some steep terrain that takes about 2 hours. Add extra time for pictures!

Take a walk along the river to the base of Chestnut mountain
Out the front gate turn left on river road for a wonderful scenic walk along the river. There are tall sheer rock cliffs on the left and nature all around. 0.9 miles down the road is Chestnut mountain’s boat pier. It is a nice spot to enjoy the sunsets. The ski slopes are above the pier. Turn right out the front gate for open scenery. We often see deer and turkey and other critters in the fields.

The base of the ski slopes are less than a mile away going south along River Road. To get to the top of the hill drive up Sand Hill Road, turn right on Blackjack road and go about a mile and a half to the ski lodge.
