It’s a mini version of Pike’s Place in Seattle, but with a brighter and cleaner interior and more places to eat. At the restaurant ‘South’, order the sweet potato fries with garlic aioli dip. At Wenatchee Valley Brewing try a dry cider from Archibald James (Cashmere, WA) if it’s on rotation. The outdoor “bigger” farmers market usually runs on Saturdays and starts in May through the end of October each year.

The Lodge is packed between 11AM -1PM. On weekends, consider eating lunch early or late to avoid the congestion and get back on the slopes quicker. We really like to drive up and snowshoe the trail up to Clara and Marion Lakes (3.2 miles round trip), then head into the lodge for Icicle Brewery’s Dirty Face Amber or Bootjack IPA (Leavenworth).

We really like to drive up and snowshoe the trail up to Clara and Marion Lakes (3.2 miles round trip), then head into the lodge for Icicle Brewery’s Dirty Face Amber or Bootjack IPA (Leavenworth).

You can't miss this famous rock formation as you make your way to the bungalow. Roughly 2.0 miles round trip with almost 1000 ft of elevation gain. It’s a short but serious lung tester. Bring water and a backpack to store the stripped layers. The vistas/pictures are best later in the day towards sunset when the valley isn’t over exposed by the sun. In the early spring the, sometimes muddy, trail is enjoyed during any time of the day with sunflowers (balsam-root) and cool, green, and snowy looks to the south across Mission Ridge. Rocky Reach Dam is seen toward the north on the mainstem Columbia River and the Wenatchee River confluence is seen in the northwest. Andrew and Tamara's tip: The auto belay is great for new climbers of all sizes (including children). Don’t have climbing gear? No problem. They rent gear of all sizes too. Given its location, it’s really easy to tie this gym visit into a Loop Trail exploration, a Town Toyota Center visit, or a playground excursion at Walla Walla Point Park.
