Fort Benning is a United States Army post straddling the Alabama-Georgia border next to Columbus, Georgia. Fort Benning supports more than 120,000 active-duty military, family members, reserve component soldiers, retirees, and civilian employees on a daily basis. It has the ability to deploy combat-ready forces by air, rail, and highway. it is named after Henry L. Benning, a brigadier general in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War.

The Little White House was the personal retreat of Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is located in the historic district of Warm Springs, GA. He first came to Warm Springs in 1924 for polio treatment and liked that area so much that, as governor of New York, he had a home built on nearby Pine Mountain.
