She sat at the bottom of the ocean for 75 years before they found her in 1985. A second expedition to the wreck site went out in 1986 and that expedition was co-led by the owner of this museum. The artifacts you see throughout the ship are REAL and valued at over $4 million dollars. You'll be able to touch a growing iceberg, experience the 28 degree water, try and steer the ship and pay tribute to the 2,208 passengers and crew that were on the Titanic. You will enter as a guest and leave as a Titanic Passenger!
The Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction in Pigeon Forge, which initially opened in 1988, is the first of three locations currently featuring Dolly Parton’s famous show. The dinner attraction features 32 highly trained horses, dozens of cast members, pyrotechnics, special effects, brief lumberjack competition, pig races, ostrich races, and much more! Since the entire show is centered around a friendly competition between the North and the South, you will be competing with your friends on the other side of the arena. The show is very entertaining and some of the spectacular horse stunts seemed like a combination of a rodeo and Blue Angles airshow presentation.
In addition to the main show, Dixie Stampede has a pre-show that starts approximately 50 minutes prior to the ticketed showtime. The pre-show entertainment, which is in the Dixie Belle Saloon, features a talented Bluegrass and Country band, Mountain Ruckus. During the pre-show, guests can purchase souvenir boot cups (filled with soda) and various snacks. Trust me on this — don’t purchase the overpriced popcorn or peanuts. Once you see the huge portions they feed you during the show, you will thank me.
After watching the servers juggle trays of hot soup and pitchers of drinks, I would not be surprised to see Dixie Stampede table serving become an Olympic sport. It was quite impressive to watch the servers feed the masses assembly-line style and keep hundreds of mason jars filled. The servers use a system to make sure the glasses are always filled with the appropriate beverage – after the initial drink order, the server did not have to ask anyone on our entire row what they were drinking. The servers work for tips and the Dixie Stampede announcer suggests visitors tip 15% of the total ticket price (bring cash).
The quality of the food was surprisingly good and vegetarian meals are available upon request. Due to the number of people being served, I was expecting the food to be low-quality, but it far exceeded my expectations. The meal, which is served without utensils, includes creamy vegetable soup, an entire rotisserie chicken, smoked pork loin, homemade biscuits, corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, and fried apple turnover. The four-course meal included and more calories than any human should consume in one sitting and is one of the best dinner show meals in the area.
Although Dolly Parton does not normally make an appearance, a music video of her singing Color Me America along and the cast performing is the grand finale.

This comedy show has been crackin’ jokes and showing off their barnyard animals for more than a decade, so they must be doing something right!
Insider Tips:
If you are part of a large group, make sure to tell The Comedy Barn staff who the group leader is. This will increase the chance of your group’s leader being brought up on stage!
WonderWorks, which is located inside a humongous upside-down building, is one of the most popular attractions in Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains. The WonderWorks attraction is a combination of a science fair, amusement park, and children’s museum all rolled up into one huge experience. The admission price includes access to over 150 activities ranging from roller coaster simulators to black light ropes courses.
In my opinion, the wide appeal of the WonderWorks exhibits is the strongest reason to visit. WonderWorks simultaneously entertains young children, teenagers, and adults – the plentiful attractions are truly fun for people of all ages! Depending on the crowds and how many exhibits your party decides to interact with, the experience should take between two and four hours.

Inversion Tunnel – As you enter the WonderWorks experience, you will pass through an inversion tunnel. Hang on to the rails – the combination of the colors, patterns, and circular motion will make you feel like you are upside down.
Xtreme 360 – Imagine a pedal-powered, upside-down carnival ride. The speed at which you pedal determines the rate of your upside-down revolutions.
Hurricane Simulator – Step into this small room to see what a 65 mile per hour wind feels like. Don’t worry you don’t get wet. The word hurricane is a little misleading – this is nothing more than a low-speed wind tunnel.
Bed of Nails – See what it feels like to lay down on a bed made out of 3,497 nails! Don’t worry it won’t hurt a bit.
Climbing Wall – The rock climbing wall, which is a beginner level, is a fun physical challenge for everyone. Race a friend or family member to the top and earn bragging rights.
Wonder Coaster – This multiple-axis virtual roller coaster will take you through seemingly endless loops and rolls. The coaster has a full 360 degrees of pitch and roll that is sure to get your adrenaline pumping!
Ropes Course – The indoor ropes course, which is the largest in the world, is over 50 feet tall! The course is sure to please adrenaline junkies and families alike. As you climb 4 stories of rope, you will cross tremor bridges, swinging beams, and experience over 50 obstacles. Due to the black lights, the entire course has a psychedelic atmosphere. In my opinion, the ropes course is the best attraction at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge.

And then you get to cap it all off with Granny’s Famous Dessert.
If you’re looking for a show that really puts the spangled in star-spangled, you won’t want to miss Country Tonite Pigeon Forge! This country song and dance fest delivers so much flash and glamor that it’s hard to know where to look during the two-hour, country music extravaganza. By the intermission, my eyes were burning from bedazzle overload and processing the continual costume changes! The multi-million dollar theater itself is enough to make your head spin, too. With room for 1,500, there’s really not a bad seat to be had.
The show featured a range of country songs, from classic oldies to newer hits, as well as some bluegrass, countrified remakes of top 40 — bluegrass cover of “All the Single Ladies” comes to mind — and gospel. Then, of course, there was Bubba the Redneck Range, there ostensibly to contribute to the comic relief portion of the show…. Just keep in mind that it almost takes more talent to sing “badly.”
Country Tonite Pigeon Forge may be all about the country music, but it also features some serious dancing, from cloggin’ to the Texas two-step and even some country breakdancing, which I didn’t even know was a thing until I saw this show. You just haven’t lived until you’ve seen a guy in tight Wranglers, a fringy shirt and a cowboy hat doing a head spin in front of more than a thousand cheering fans. I can now cross “watch a country-style hip-hop dance performance” off of my bucket list.

Alcatraz East, which is located near The Island in Pigeon Forge, is a fantastic new crime museum that will have crime geeks drooling. The huge, 25,000 square feet museum includes five unique galleries and over 100 interactive exhibits!
The design of the Alcatraz East building was modeled after the first prison in the State of Tennessee and Alcatraz. The museum incorporates the castle-like look of the 1898 Tennessee State Prison just outside of Nashville and the watch towers of Alcatraz.
A few of our favorite exhibits include:
American Crime-
Remember O.J Simpson speeding away in the white Ford Bronco? That vehicle and many other famous getaway cars can only be seen at Alcatraz East. There are plentiful artifacts and souvenirs including guns, papers, vehicles and more that remind us of some of the most famous criminals in our country’s history.
Punishment-
Want to hang out in a jail cell for the afternoon? Now, you have your chance to get behind bars! Spend some time getting your mug shot taken, take a lie detector test, and then experience jail life… temporarily.
In addition to the permanent exhibits, Alcatraz East rotates through temporary exhibits – this was actually one of our favorite facets of this cool museum. The ugly truth of wildlife trafficking was the temporary exhibit the day we visited. As a local who loves our black bears, it was interesting to discover that our beloved creatures are being illegally killed to produce medicines. The temporary exhibit was a collaborative production with several non-profits and government agencies meant to highlight the dangers of the multi-billion dollar illegal wildlife trafficking industry.

The ugly truth of wildlife trafficking was the temporary exhibit the day we visited. As a local who loves our black bears, it was interesting to discover that our beloved creatures are being illegally killed to produce medicines. The temporary exhibit was a collaborative production with several non-profits and government agencies meant to highlight the dangers of the multi-billion dollar illegal wildlife trafficking industry.

The Sinks
The Sinks area of the Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the most picturesque spots along the Little River Road scenic drive. This area, which is 12 miles west of the Sugarlands Visitor Center, offers visitors the chance to see Mother Nature at her finest!

Today, it’s right next to the Old Mill, where grain is ground with stone. Although the menu is ever-evolving, it does include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. A recent day’s menu included:

Wild Plum’s parking lot is relatively small. You can park in the lot across the street. Be careful walking across Buckhorn Road though as it has no sidewalks and is normally quite busy.
The restaurant is not totally handicap accessible. While there is handicap parking in front and the first floor is accessible, the upstairs area and restrooms are not.
Wild Plum is dog friendly with dogs welcomed on the outside porch deck. Make sure your pooch is on a leash in order to keep everyone happy.
