Hands down the best Greek restaurant in Cape Town, probably among the best anything-restaurants in the city. Sterling location, consistently excellent food, friendly and efficient staff. Vegan stuff, and dog friendly.

This restaurant is the thing dreams are made of: with its rustic and antique finishes, to its ambiance of candlelit dinners in the evening. They boast the best burger I've ever had the pleasure of tasting, with friendly waiters to match. Their lamb burger is quite expensive, however the relish, spices, and sauces combined with the toppings make for a treat I'd go back for time and time again. Their cocktails are exquisitely good and my granadilla one was definitely a winner. I urge every person to try it once, for any of their meals or drinks. The garden area is particularly lovely with an ethereal feel that will add to your experience.

This cafe/deli is an excellent stop for delicious sandwiches, bread, freshly prepared meals, fresh juices, coffee, and it has an international selection of sauces, meats, cheeses, wines... you name it! What also adds to s great atmosphere is that you basically eat and drink on the pavement but with an Italian 'bar' experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone in and around Cape Town

Three Wise Monkeys, known locally for their poke bowls, is Cape Town’s popular noodle bar. Just before you get excited, poke bowls have nothing to do with pokeballs (although Sea Point is a pretty legit hiding place for the little critters) instead it is a dish made from chunks of raw salmon or tuna, on a bed of rice with some delicious accompaniments!

Truly one of the best clubs to be on a late Friday or Saturday night in Cape Town. The vibe is amazing! The place truly rocks up with the 'hippies' of Cape Town! Never had food & there is plenty on offer for drinks. Party on people.

A great motorcycle-themed dive bar in Cape Town, right next to the speakeasy Outrage of Modesty. I love this place for the great music, nice cocktails (Marshall rules - try his Old Fashioned or barrel-aged Negroni) and outstanding hotdogs (try the one with guacamole). The people that come here are super chill. If you to have a good time in Cape Town, look no further.

Sightseeing

Robben Island and Museum Robben Island needs no introduction with regards to the significance of its place in South Africa’s and indeed the world’s history. As “home” to one of the world’s most famous prisoners, statesmen and leader’s in Nelson Mandela, Robben Island is quite possibly most well known island-prison on the planet. Not just a prison-island The island, a World Heritage Site some 9km (5.5mi) offshore from Cape Town, was dubbed “Robben” (the Dutch word for seal) Island by early settlers in reference to the seal population at the time. Over the centuries, the island has housed a prison, hospital, mental institution, leper colony and a military base. The afore mentioned Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of the 27 years of his incarceration imprisoned on the island.

About an hour’s drive from Cape Town - and less than half an hour from Stellenbosch, South Africa’s oldest settlement and centre of its wine production - lies the small town of Franschhoek, which has the unlikely distinction of being one of the world’s gastronomic capitals. There’s an unreality about this tiny place (population: 20,000), the white-washed, gabled Cape Dutch homesteads made immaculate by the clarity of light. However, despite the Dutch influence, it’s the French Huguenots we have to thank for this special heritage (Franschhoek means “French Corner” in Dutch). Fleeing persecution under Louis XIV and invited to the Cape by Dutch Protestants, the Huguenots brought their knowledge of wine-making - and restaurants have sprung up to make the most of this fine resource. These days you’ll need to get in training for the feast of food and drink that’s on offer, but it can always be walked off on one of the many trails around the Drakenstein and Wemmershoek mountain ranges that circle the town. Now is an ideal time to visit this wonderful spot, when its spring-summer climate more or less guarantees dining al fresco under the Southern Cross.

Stellenbosch is a university town in South Africa's Western Cape province. It's surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. The town's oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Cape Dutch architecture gives a sense of South Africa's Dutch colonial history, as do the Village Museum's period houses and gardens.

The Bo-Kaap neighborhood of Cape Town has a rich and multicultural history. Formally known as the Malay Quarter, the district is rooted in Malaysian, African, Indian and Sri Lankan culture, largely a result of the descendants of the slaves who were brought over by Dutch imperialists in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, the area is still known for its vibrant history and blending of creeds; a cocktail which visitors often find fascinating and unforgettable.

The landmark attraction of the route is Cape Point at the end of the Cape Peninsula, with the legendary Cape of Good Hope. Far too many visitors do the speed tour to the old lighthouse that rises 238 metres above the sea, when the journey into the Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park is a day of discovery all on its own. Cape Point is Africa’s most southwesterly point.

Kirstenbosch is a famous botanical garden nestled at the eastern foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town. The garden is one of nine National Botanical Gardens covering five of South Africa's six different biomes. The garden includes a large conservatory (The Botanical Society Conservatory) exhibiting plants from a number of different regions, including savanna, fynbos, karoo and others. Outdoors, the focus is on plants native to the Cape region, highlighted by the spectacular collections of proteas. Kirstenbosch enjoys great popularity with residents and visitors. From the gardens several trails lead off along and up the mountain slopes and these are much used by walkers and mountaineers. One of the trails, up a ravine called Skeleton Gorge, is an easy and popular route to the summit of Table Mountain. This route is also known as Smuts' Track after Prime Minister Jan Smuts who used this route regularly. On the slopes above the cultivated parts of the garden a contour path leads through forests to Constantia Nek to the south. The same contour path can be followed to the north for many kilometres and it will take the hiker past the Rhodes Memorial to the slopes of Devil's Peak and beyond.

Shopping

This bustling shopping, dining and entertainment area neighbouring the Table Bay harbour is almost as synonymous with a visit to Cape Town, as the Table Mountain that looks upon it from up high. Shopping isn’t the only activity that can be enjoyed at the V&A Waterfront. You can also find two cinema complexes (which include the new luxury cinema, Scene) which feature the latest released films, housed within the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre. The 123 hectare size property also has a world-class aquarium, the Two Oceans Aquarium museum.
