526 acres of sheer goodness! Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux (who also designed Central Park), Prospect Park opened in 1867 and is pretty much one of my favorites in the city. Its attractions include the Long Meadow, the Picnic House, Prospect Park Zoo, the Boathouse—and the Prospect Park Bandshell that hosts free outdoor concerts in the summer.

Located at the northern corner and the main entrance of Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza with its Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch, the JFK Monument, the Bailey Fountain, etc... cannot be missed. Also, opposite the plaza on Saturday mornings, you should visit the charming Farmer's Market with its fresh produce and fabulous baked goods.

Neighborhoods
One of my favorite neighborhoods with fabulous views of Manhattan. Dumbo has a lot to offer--from great food (Grimaldi's for pizza) and ice cream (Ample Hills!) to a walk on the promenade or a picnic in the garden. Combine a visit to Dumbo with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Possibly the best restaurant in the neighborhood, Olmsted by chef-owner Greg Baxtrom, is unbelievable. They offer a seasonal menu some of which is straight from their backyard. #insanelygood
