‘The Chains" gives visitors the opportunity for swimming, fishing and viewing the Glen Canyon Dam from the Lake Powell side.
Just east of the Glen Canyon Dam, take a dirt road heading north off of highway 89.
Some agility is needed to navigate the rocks down to the lake to swim.
Explore the area and you may find some hidden private spots to enjoy a nice swim.

the Chains
NO BOAT, NO PROBLEM LAKE ACCESS:
‘The Chains" gives visitors the opportunity for swimming, fishing and viewing the Glen Canyon Dam from the Lake Powell side.
Just east of the Glen Canyon Dam, take a dirt road heading north off of highway 89.

Visit the rock formations west of the parking near the boat launch ramp. The distance of your walk will vary based on how far you want to go. You may find a sweet swimming spot or a lovely place to watch the sunset.
