Castle Rising Castle is a very popular destination as it is one of the best preserved, largest most decorated keeps in England. It is surrounded by 20 acres of mighty earthworks and is available to visit Monday to Sunday 10am-6pm.

Beautiful spots for wildlife and nature
Roydon Common is a large nature reserve home to an array of wildlife including 15 different species of Dragonfly!
For birdwatchers, this is a terrific spot with sightings including the Icterine Warbler and the Long-Tailed Skua. If visiting in the evening, if looking carefully you may also catch a viewing of enigmatic summer visitors, the nocturnal Nightjar!
The wet boggy areas of the marsh are also home to three British species of Sundew. These carnivorous plants can only extract limited nutrients from the ground, so supplement by catching and digesting small insects!
