Knockvologan beach is approached from Fionnphort by taking the road to Knockvologan Farm which is a couple of miles beyond Fidden. Park your car here and walk for about 10mins down the track that leads to the sea. The island of Erraid can be accessed at low tide and was the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s Kidnapped.

Secluded beach.

A short walk from Croig harbour. White sandy beach, turquoise water. Likely to have to yourself.
This really is the most fabulous expanse of glistening white shell sand and there are a couple of hidden coves too. The views out to Rum are spectacular on a clear day.

Another stunning beach with pink granite outcrops and a large white sandy bay. The setting is absolutely wonderful, amazing sunsets, and lots of wildlife around, including seals basking on the rocks. Have a quick dip in the icy cold, crystal clear water (it might look like the Carribean but it isn’t!) and just soak up the scenery, the wildlife, and the peace and quiet. Camping available at Fidden Farm. Fidden is 2 miles from Fionnphort, turn left up past the Columba Centre.

Uisken Beach is easily accessible by car, take the signposted road to Uisken which is just beyond Bunessan. Follow the signs down to the beach – there is a parking area directly by the sands. Uisken is famous for it’s Beach Games day in August, there are assorted races on the sand and a raft race around the bay on home-made rafts. It’s great fun for all the family. The views out to Colonsay and the Paps of Jura are stunning.

Nature

A small but charming aquarium making a big splash as Europe's first catch and release aquarium. Our animals are brought in to us by local fishermen, divers and families and are returned to the sea every couple of weeks, so you can guarantee that no two visits will be the same! With informative interactive exhibits, a digital cinema room and our kids craft area, there's plenty to see and do. Get your hands wet at our touch pool stations and discover the secret lives of our sea creatures. Touch pool demonstrations run on the hour every day during the summer months (see our website for current events timetables). Tickets are valid ALL DAY so you can always take time to explore the historic harbour front and come back to see our sea creatures again! Mull Aquarium is part of the THA, a not-for-profit community company. PLEASE NOTE the aquarium is only open from Easter through to the end of October. Trip advisor does not allow us to put seasonal opening times on this page, please visit our website for up to date information.

Ninth Wave Restaurant on the Isle of Mull showcases quality modern cuisine with an eclectic mix of vibrant ethnicity: a celebration of quality produce gathered from the magnificent provender of Scotland. Ninth Wave’s approach is based on seasonality, using the croft’s own home-grown produce, fresh-caught seafood and local organic meats. Owners John & Carla Lamont invite you to explore the ever- changing menu that is sourced from fisherman’s sustainable catches and crofter’s bounty. Lobster, crab, hand-dived scallops and fish are often caught only hours before appearing on your dinner plate. John, a local fisherman himself, will not only catch your lobster and crab on his wee fishing boat the “Sonsie”, but will also be your waiter and wine steward for the evening. A local pioneer in using home-grown produce and traditional plants, our island restaurant is now known for its unique gastronomy, created from Mull’s shores, woods, meadows and sea. The Isle of Mull boasts some of the best produce, game, and seafood in the world. Living on a wild isle amidst an abundant, over-flowing larder gives our restaurant an edge on reducing food miles, and promoting sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. The menu is rooted in the melting pot of Pacific Rim cuisine from Chef Carla’s West Coast Canadian homeland. Our reputation for quality is founded on serving the freshest and most sustainable species from the Scotland’s Hebrides.

Located in the heart of the Isle of Mull's capital, Tobermory Distillery, established in 1798, the original and only distillery on the island and one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. Established in 1798, nestling in the heart of Tobermory itself, we are the only distillery on the Isle of Mull and one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. We are unique for producing two different, but alluring, single malts: the fruity, unpeated Tobermory and the more robust and smoky Ledaig. Our single malt very much captures the spirit of our beautiful island and we are open all year to welcome visitors to share how we produce our whisky and highlight the distinct drams that we distill.

Here, there are lots of sandy coves to explore and the chance to see seals and numerous sea birds. Garbh Eilean is a tidal island on this stunning beach. Turn off the Craignure to Fionnphort road just before Bunessan, signposted to Scoor. Keep going along a very rough road at the end of which is parking space, just opposite Kilvickeon Old Parish Church and Cemetery. Take the right turn on the track and it's about a 10 minute walk down to Kilvickeon beach.
