The Capital City of Scotland. Full of major tourist attractions, including the Castle, Zoo, Shopping, Botanical Gardens, Museum, Art Galleries, Entertainment, Military Tattoo, and annual Festivals including the Fringe. East to access from Kirkcaldy by train or bus, but we don't recommend taking your car into the City centre - there are however, two Park and Ride schemes on the Fife side with regular direct bus travel.

There's plenty of things to do in Aviemore, from skiing, canoeing, wildlife watching, shopping, dining or ceilidh dancing! The mountains and the Cairngorms National Park that surround Aviemore offer a vast playground for a range of outdoor activities and attractions, from the nearby CairnGorm Mountain snowsports (all weather dependant) . Nearby, there is also a steam railway, wildlife park, whiskey distillery etc. etc. By train, bus or car/ motorcycle from Kirkcaldy, the route can be beautiful and take the time to visit some of the small towns on the way, Perth, Dunkeld and Pitlochry. But be warned, the road route is covered by average speed cameras! The Cairngorm plateau is the highest, coldest and snowiest in the UK and bad weather can affect the local area.
