Local favorite. This little bakery can get pretty busy and while it’s a little pricey, their baked goods and breakfast\lunch food is pretty spectacular. Comforts is around the corner and is also very delicious! Downtown San Anselmo is also a really cute place to explore too and walk off your meal.. Check out Imagination park with the Indiana Jones and Yoda statues.

This is our favorite restaurant for special occasions when we can’t drive into San Francisco. It’s on par with SF restaurants without the drive into the city. Picco’s has a small but full bar in front and has a lively, young, and fun atmosphere. Their food has so much flavor. My favorites are the ahi tuna, spring toast, and the gnocchi with fennel sausage and truffle butter!
P.S. There’s a picco’s pizza place next door (same owner) so don’t mix them up. I’ve never tried the pizza place but I’m recommending the restaurant.

Our favorite brewery around. Their food is awesome. I love their pizza. Fun vibe and cute outdoor patio right on 4th st. in downtown San Rafael. There’s also another 2-3 more breweries in a two block radius downtown if you want to do a crawl.

Top things to do in Marin
Be sure to see to drive up to see the Golden Gate Bridge and as far back as Rodeo Beach. Watch out for the beautiful reddish brown coyotes in the meadows!

Beautiful state park for exploring, hiking, mountain bike riding, picnicking, and they have a nice public pool if you need to cool off at McNear Beach with a view of the San Francisco Bay. This is a 5-minute drive from our home.

Wine Country
Although Napa is known to be THE wine tasting region in California; Sonoma wine country has amazing wine also and is less pretentious and kinder to your wallet.
Downtown Healdsburg is one of my favorite places for wine tasting because of so many tasting rooms, shopping, and yummy restaurants.
Itty bitty Geyserville is good too and Is well known for their Italian restaurant Catelli’s that is frequented by Lady Gaga.
Downtown Calistoga is cute too if you’re also looking into a mud bath or to enjoy natural hot springs. I highly recommend Lovina’s for dinner.
All their wine is great and they are very generous with their pours. Can get busy on the weekends in the summer but they have a good deli and bbq food on the weekends.
