President Kennedy visited Galway in 1963 and gave a speech at Eyre Square and the park was named in his honor in 1965. However, Eyre Square remains the populist choice. Civic occasions like the St. Patrick's Day Parade and the annual Christmas Market are centred on Eyre Square. It is also a very popular meeting place for young and old.

he Claddagh is one of the great beauty spots on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is a good starting point for a walk/run along a rugged coastal path which leads to Salthill and its famed beaches. Hundreds of swans gather on Claddagh Quay and it is a local tradition for children to feed the swans. Claddagh Quay is on the doorstep of the apartment complex and is the cover photo for this listing (2 mins).
