Favorite Restaurants
I always recommend locally owned restaurants. Our smaller, Mom & Pop eateries, are AMAZING! You might have to wait a little longer than a chain, but you won't remember that extra five minute wait. You WILL remember the phenomenal food!
Go early! This place gets packed and is frequented by more locals than tourists. It's very casual - you order at the counter, and they'll bring it to you. Funky atmosphere with great music and free arcade games! Sorry, but I seriously can not pick a favorite here. Wait, you MUST have the Fried Jalapeno Patties with whatever entree you choose. One order comes with two hand sized patties, so you can share.
Save room for dessert! They have a little bakery section with fresh cookies, cobbler, cakes and rolls. Heaven!

I'm going to be honest here and tell you that I'm not a huge barbecue fan. What?!?!?! I know, I know, I'm a little embarrassed to admit it. But what I do love is huge, Texas sized stuffed baked potatoes that you can make two meals out of. Queen's has any of a number of topping combinations to make it your way. I also really like their Turkey Cliffhanger sandwich - get it on the Jalapeno bun!

But what I do love is huge, Texas sized stuffed baked potatoes that you can make two meals out of. Queen's has any of a number of topping combinations to make it your way. I also really like their Turkey Cliffhanger sandwich - get it on the Jalapeno bun!

Rudy & Paco is the only restaurant in town that has a dress code, so don't be bop in there in shorts and a tank top. It's also located right next door to The 1894 Grand Theater, so it's great for a romantic date night out.
I've only been here twice - I'm just not much of a "fine dining" kind of gal. But I really enjoyed the Filete de Pargo Parrilla (grilled gulf red snapper topped with cilantro cream sauce).

Rudy & Paco is the only restaurant in town that has a dress code, so don't be bop in there in shorts and a tank top. It's also located right next door to The 1894 Grand Theater, so it's great for a romantic date night out.

Some example are Nutter Butter, Irish Car Bomb, and Grandma's Nuts, but there are 20 flavors to choose from on any given day.
Need a few more carbs? Stick a scoop in a freshly baked donut! Yep, they do that too. Or warm up one of their home made brownies (seriously - BEST brownie you'll ever have) and have a scoop or three on top.

I got stuck in a rut here years ago when I ordered their Liver & Onions, and I've never ordered anything since. So while I can't comment on the other menu items, I can tell you that us locals love this place, and the fact that they have a $10 lunch special just makes it all that much better. That ten bucks will get you your choice of entree (anything from meatloaf to chicken fried steak to liver), TWO sides (oh my sakes, try the au gratin potatoes!), a big warm fluffy dinner roll, AND a glass of iced tea. Trust me, it's enough food for two meals.
