Godiva, Countess of Mercia (/ɡəˈdaɪvə/; died 1067), in Old English Godgifu, was an English noblewoman who, according to a legend dating at least to the 13th century, rode naked – covered only in her long hair – through the streets of Coventry to gain a remission of the oppressive taxation that her husband imposed on his tenants. The name "Peeping Tom" for a voyeur originates from later versions of this legend in which a man named Thomas watched her ride and was struck blind or dead.

There are lots of interesting things to see...bicycles, cars, etc....the info was very helpful. If you really look at exhibits and read everything it will be several hours. The land speed record cars was especially interesting and unusual.

Great place. Free to access. Usually some interesting activities for the children during school holidays. See the Sky Blue Bus from 1987. Vintage cars motorcycles and bicycles. And the most beautiful old Jag that I've taken all the kids to see "when you graduate! !" Good coffee shop. Lovely gift shop. Lots of variety and often a crafts fair. Top attraction.
