Artesia isn't exactly the culinary capital of the world, but there are a few good places worth mentioning.
Great mexican food and incredible steaks! Their Carne Asada is the best I've ever had and you can call in orders To Go! They have a lunch buffet Monday-Friday and Sunday--they are closed on Saturdays.

This is a place where thirsty people go and have a good time downtown. Drinks are alright but I've definitely had better food so consider eating before or after you want a drink.

Open Wednesday through Saturday, this new brewery is the real deal-- locally owned, family friendly and excellent at what they do (craft brews). They bring in food trucks, live music, art classes, family board game nights and corn hole tournaments to name a few things. They are also pet friendly! Check out their calendar of events on their webpage for more information.

Tucked away in the middle of New Mexico you’ll find Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. The three sites offer a glimpse into a unique time in history. A time entrenched with cultural borrowing, conflict, and struggles. The now abandoned sites stand as reminders of the Spanish and Pueblo People’s early encounters. Although it's a three-hour journey one-way, this site stands as a testament to the people and cultures that have called this area home. https://www.nps.gov/sapu/index.htm
