Pedernales is a bustling town that has little to recommend it, other than perhaps the beach with its several decent restaurants. This is the nearest town of any size for grocery shopping, internet, laundry, medical clinics, and other essentials. NOTE: Pedernales was hard hit by the April 2016 earthquake and many establishments were destroyed. It is currently rebuilding.
