Places to hang out in San Marcos

These are some of the places I recommend, but walk around. There is a lot to see in San Marcos.
San Marcos institution serving extremely fresh food - burritos, sandwiches, plates and pizza - much grown on the owner's farm.

Every night is different at del Lago: movie night, live music, comedy shows, etc. Also great treatments and a stunning view during the day.

Sightseeing

Everywhere you go in San Marcos you will see coffee trees growing. Shangri-La Coffee is a fair trade organization that buys local, organic coffee and roasts it in a state of the art roaster. Their coffee tour is very informative and a great way to tour the valley. AirBnb is listing this as Circles Cafe, which is a great cafe that features local products, many from Shangri-La.
