..every ( and only on) Friday night you can eat at Equus that is literally behind Villa Libre. You can not make reservations and you need to order at the bar, you have a choice of meat, Fish and vegetable skewers which are served with bread. Simple but very tasty and the ambience is great.

Sightseeing
..only a 5 minutes drive from Villa Libre, Fort Beekenburg was built in 1703 on Curaçao on the Caracasbaai in defense of the Spanish Water. The Caracas Bay and the Spanish Water behind was one of the few suitable places to access the land from the sea. Therefore it was decided to build a fort to make it impossible for enemies to reach Willemstad.
It is free for visitors, you have a great view from the tower over the Ocean and the Spanish Water.

..only a 5 minutes drive from Villa Libre, Fort Beekenburg was built in 1703 on Curaçao on the Caracasbaai in defense of the Spanish Water. Therefore it was decided to build a fort to make it impossible for enemies to reach Willemstad.
It is free for visitors, you have a great view from the tower over the Ocean and the Spanish Water.

...wedged in between the popular Seaquarium Beach and the busy Jan Thiel beach are the salt pans of Jan Thiel. One of the entrances is at the doorstep of Villa Libre, in the backyard. A beautiful nature area where you can walk, run, ride horses or mountain bike. And with a bit of luck ( they have been there for the last 4 years) you will see a group of flamingos alongside the many cacti on the salt lake. Absolutely recommended to visit during your stay at Villa Libre. Enter the woods, follow the path al the way to the Salt lake and turn right until you reach the right side of the salt lakes, there is a large flock of Flamingos. Best early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
