It's close by and they have great breakfast/brunch and lovely outdoor seating during the warmer months. Open for dinner too! They use local, fresh produce and meats and have a rooftop garden and keep bees. Beer and wine is served here.

CASH ONLY: Matt's is a must for burger lovers. It's a local institution: which means there will be a wait to get in on the weekends, but worth it. Their Jucy Lucy is what people go there for. And heed their warning: do not bite right into it unless you enjoy second-degree burns to your mouth. :-)

Marla's is a casual Caribbean restaurant that has been featured on the Food Network. It's amazing, authentic, homemade flavorful food. But do NOT mess around with the spice level. "Medium" is good for most spice lovers (get their hot sauce on the side). Proceed at your own risk by ordering "spicy" here. No alcohol is served here.

Revival has the BEST Southern food in the Twin Cities. That said? Their cheeseburger is one of my favorites in town as well. Nights and weekends are busy but anytime is sooooo worth it. The chef has won national awards including the coveted "golden pig" from Cochon555. Nice wine and beer list, too.

Hot Indian is less than a mile away in the Midtown Global Market and will soon will have locations in the Minneapolis Skyway and the Mall of America. It's a award-winning quick serve Indian place as well as a food truck. A must try! And don't worry, not everything is spicy. But if you want it that way, no problem.

Located at Minnehaha Falls this popular fish/seafood spot is excellent for a summers day/evening. They speicialize in seafood, po boys, fish 'n chips and a daily curry that is usually my favorite. Sea Salt serves wine and beer as well as tea, ice cream and coffee. The wait on the weekends can get very long but that doesn't seem to slow locals down.

Amazing music, food and craft cocktails. Their cheese plate is stunning and the food is great. Outdoor seating in the warmer months. Icehouse is located on "Eat Street" so it's very easy to get a bite to eat at whichever place strikes your fancy then take in a show.

Entertainment & Activities

This vintage and well-known theater was designed by Liebenberg and Kaplan and built by theater owners Bill and Sidney Volk in 1948. They serve REAL butter on their popcorn and their second-run movies are at a budget price. There's also a wine bar kitty-corner from the theater, which is nice. ;-)
