Traditional Mexican restaurant. Best known for having breakfast or brunch. On the weekend expect a 30 min to 1 hour wait. Definitely worth the wait. I consider a must for anyone that visits Mexico City. There is 3 locations in the city center but this is the original restaurant.

Great pastry chain store with affordable prices. There is a wide selection and everything is always fresh. On the side of the store they also sell rotisserie chicken. There is two kinds "rostizado" (plain roasted) and "adobado" (marinated with their secret sauce). My favourite is the adobado with freshly baked bread and their potato chips. They also offer different types of sauces.

By far one of the best places to eat a classic "Al Pastor Taco". When ordering they will ask if you would like with everything - "con todo", meaning that they add minced onions, cilantro and their sauce. Don't forget to add lime to your tacos. Also ask for an order of "taco de costilla" - short rib taco. This comes plain and all the garnishing and sauces are available on the table.

Teotihuacan pyramids, also known as the City of the Gods. A former Mesoamerican indigenous civilization that predates the Maya and Aztecs, Teotihuacan was once the largest city in Mexico, reaching its heyday in the 1st century CE (AD) when the Sun Pyramid was constructed. Snap memorable shots from the top of Sun Pyramid and Moon Pyramid. Travel time is about 1 hour and if possible go early to avoid the crowds.

One of the largest public plazas in the world, the Zócalo is the heart of Mexico City and is one of the city's most famous attractions. This is where the movie James Bond, Specter, was filmed. Visit the church, the National Palace and Templo Mayor (Main temple of the Aztecs). Best of all is the it is only a few blocks away from the apartment.

Considered a day trip, Cholula’s Archaeology (Park Zona Arqueológica) is about 2 hours away. Visit the world’s largest pyramid — the Great Pyramid of Cholula, aka Tlachihualtepetl, towering at 180 feet (55 meters) with a square base of 1,300 feet (396 meters). Usually tour trips to Cholula will also include visting the city of Puebla, UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a city where buildings are sculpted out of freestone and covered with painted ceramic tiles. The charming city boasts 70 churches in its historic district alone.

This market is a perfect place to buy a wide variety of Mexican crafts. Stalls often sell the same crafts at different prices, so shop around before committing to any purchases. It is about 30 minutes walk from the apartment.
