National Trust run woodland in nearby Woolton Hill. Hardcore paths great for kids on scooters and bikes. River is often shallow enough for paddling in wellies. Look out for the resident cows.

Inkpen Common Nature Reserve is a lovely spot for a short family walk. Just down the road is the Crown and Garter pub. You can walk here from the cottage, have a look at the print out of the OS Map in our House Manual for the route.

Head up to Inkpen and keep heading up the hill towards Faccombe (where the Jack Russell Pub is) and you'll find parking spots and a bridleway leading you to Combe Gibbet - the site of the last double hanging in Britain. There's even a replica gibbet at the top of the hill! The highest spot in this part of the country, you can see for miles on a clear day. It does get very windy though!

Head up to Inkpen and keep heading up the hill towards Faccombe (where the Jack Russell Pub is) and you'll find parking spots and a bridleway leading you to Combe Gibbet - the site of the last double hanging in Britain. There's even a replica gibbet at the top of the hill! The highest spot in this part of the country, you can see for miles on a clear day. It does get very windy though!

Now it's a nature reserve with cattle grazing, hard core paths great for cycling and scooting.
