Across from the Art Bed and Breakfast is the fabulous Park Gooilust, renowned for the tree variety and old-growth plus boasts the 200-year botanical garden. Springtime the park blooms with thousands of rhododendron and azalea valleys under a canopy of 100+ varieties of tree species. I would love to share my life-long naturalist-cultural pursuits along with the adjacent Dutch architecture monuments of Trompenburgh 's-Graveland, and the Hilversum Dudok Town Hall. Hilversum is the home of Dutch Hollywood and where reality TV originated. We stop first at the architectural wonder of Hilversum Town Hall, exquisite style movement architecture example, and the masterpiece of the architect-urban planner, Willem Marinus Dudok. Our first botanical garden visit is Costerus a year-round botanical garden. Third stop two explores the huge variety of evergreens found in Hilversum’s Pinetum Blijdenstein botanical garden. Pinetum Blijdenstein specializes in conifers but is also home to cycads, ephedras, and rhododendrons, as well as a variety of tropical plants in its greenhouses. The Pinetum is part of the Dutch National Plant Collection and as such is one of the most important collections of conifers in the world.
