There are six different shrines representing various major religions. See if you can find them all! And visit the 450-year old Banyan tree -- one of the largest in the world!

This park was the result of an effort to restore the Adyar Estuary.. The mouth of one of the city's major rivers just before it meets the sea. Restoration efforts have brought back bird life so this is a good place to see some of the migratory water birds that visit our city.

That aside, it's a wonderful place to visit for morning assembly and take a tour through the dance and music classrooms. The campus is a green and gorgeous oasis.

Kalakshetra RoadThis 100 acre campus is the centre for the study and performance of traditional fine arts. Bharatnatyam dance and carnatic music performances are held here regularly. That aside, it's a wonderful place to visit for morning assembly and take a tour through the dance and music classrooms. The campus is a green and gorgeous oasis.
While not the best maintained place, with several galleries closed for renovation, the Bronze Gallery contains some truly stunning sculptures. The museum also has a large numismatic and Roman antiquities collection and the National Art Gallery may merit a visit. What few people know (and perhaps fewer may care for) is that there is a massive bat colony, home to some 3 species of bat, that roost just behind the museum... Take a peek at the clouds of flying fox hanging off the trees!

Described as an "all-day 'Smart Veg' glocal dining concept using fresh, locally-sourced produce to create healthy, convenient & aesthetically appealing delights," SVAH is perhaps best visited for its ambience. Located in a late famed dancer's property, called 'Spaces', it's a beautiful place to drop by in the late afternoon.

A small local eatery serving typical south indian fare, Vishranthi is hugely popular for a nice, hot breakfast. Don't expect fancy seating or air conditioning, just good food.

From the noisy fish and spring potato stalls, the dozens of cafes restaurants and food trucks that line the promenade, the small and smelly fish market and the madding crowds, it's the quintessential Bessy experience full of colour and character. Do not expect to sun bathe or swim here!
