Drinks & Nightlife

The Brick is the oldest continuously operating bar in the state and happens to have some of the best burgers as well! If you don't have kids with you make sure to go in the bar side and see the running water spittoon!

Food Scene

Swiftwater has it all, and on a warm, windless day (okay, I admit, those are hard to find in Suncadia) the patio is the best place in the area to be. The cedar plank salmon is fantastic. The drinks and wine are great, and if it's busy and you don't have a reservation as if you can sit in the lounge/entry way and order, or at the bar, both of which they will usually accomodate.

Books, some snacks for a hike and a pre or post-hike meal? Basecamp really is the base for your north side of the valley adventures. Stop there before heading up 903 to hike. Even better, end up there after mountain biking, The Coal Mines Trail (end point of both Brass Monkey and Rat Pac) leads right back to Base Camp

Great food, relatively healthy and always super nice team working there. It doesn't look like much when you first see it, but it's a locals favorite. There are two or three tables under the giant tree to the left of the building, if you are looking to eat outside those are much more sheltered from the wind. It's also at the Eastern edge of the Coal Mines Trail, so a great place to fuel before or after a ride or hike (or snowshoe in the winter!)

Neighborhoods

Two blocks of the best small mountain town. Need coffee? A Book? Some Whiskey? Small Town Candy Store? Roslyn has it all, plus the famous Brick Saloon!

Hiking

The Coal Mines trail is a gravel trail that connects the towns of Cle Elum, Roslyn and Ronald. It rises just slightly from Cle Elum to Ronald, so the preferred route in my opinion is to start in Cle Elum (free parking right at the start), ride all the way to the end in Ronald, then on the way back stop in Roslyn for snacks/meals and a bit of sightseeing. While you could technically do it on a road bike, I would recommend a gravel or mountain bike for best enjoyment. If hiking just go to Roslyn and back. always confirm distances before you setout, but the fact this trail is so flat makes it great for kids.
