Neighborhoods

Hello Eric- I'm looking forward to your visit soon. I wanted to follow up on your request for restaurants. There are a couple that I think do best to appeal to families. The restaurants reflect the diversity of the neighborhood. These are all within an 8 minute walk from the house: 1. Mon Ami: Corner of Somerled and Madison (great fried chicken and the potato noodles are surprisingly delicious. Don't order the sushi) 2. AI Dumpling: Corner of Somerled and Prince of Wales. Not the best dumpling place in Montreal but the best in the neighborhood. Kids will love them. 3. L'Oeufrier NDG: Corner of Somerled and Avenue Cumberland. Despite being a chain, I went here recently and was surprised at both the good quality and ambiance. Brunch! Really good smoothies. 4. Boulangerie Molisana: corner of Cumberland and Somerled. Fresh and delicious take out cold pizza and a nice meat and cheese counter. The kids will love the red pizza. Also really great and fresh Cannoli. Not for eating in. 5. Elementaire Cafe: 6565 Somerled. super comfi family freindly cafe with quality coffee and prepared sandwiches. Also, a lovely outdoor area. 12-15 minute walk 1. La Meunerie Urbaine: Corner Monkland and Beaconsfield. Good croissants, great baguette, amazing sourdough breads. 2. Cafe de Mercanti: Corner Monkland and Beaconsfield. This is my favorite late in the NDG area, also lovely outdoor seating.
