Nearby Wanstead has a very charming traditional high street with butcher, baker and even candle-maker! Coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets. 10 minutes by bus. Wanstead also has an AMAZING park (Wanstead Park) 15 minutes walk from my house and another separate beautiful area which is 2 minutes walk from my house - Wanstead Flats.

Stratford in East London (note not Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon) is an exciting dynamic place to live and work. Soon to be East Bank area will have the new branches of the Victoria & Albert Museum, Sadlers Wells Dance Theatre. Already a historic and very good Theatre Royal, and the Stratford Picturehouse cinema. Stratford is a centre for Tech innovation, and there are several universities also here. The whole of the London Fashion colleges will soon be located here. Stratford is NOT just the (boring) Westfield Shopping Mall.
