I've been coming to Ogunquit for over 25 years and this is the best bakery I know of for pastries & desserts. Their Napolean is my personal favorite, but my family enjoys their Mocha-chocolate cake. I've never had something from them that I didn't like.

This is the best bread I have had--worth visiting just to taste the free samples. We tried some of their bread years ago from the local Hannaford's and after trying it, we can't eat any other kind of bread. My mother will stock up several loaves to last for months because there is no bread that we can buy that is better than theirs. It's become the new gold-standard.

When Pigs Fly Restaurant & Pizzeria
460 US-1This is the best bread I have had--worth visiting just to taste the free samples. We tried some of their bread years ago from the local Hannaford's and after trying it, we can't eat any other kind of bread. My mother will stock up several loaves to last for months because there is no bread that we can buy that is better than theirs. It's become the new gold-standard.
We used to go to La Pizzeria in Ogunquit town center, and still do, ocassionally; it's still very good, but have mostly converted to the Pizzeria at When Pigs Fly. It is easily the best pizza I've had in Maine, and as good as anything I've had in New Haven or New York. It's also a great place to stop for restaurant week, and their beer menu is as good as it gets. My family eats here literally every time we come to Maine.

It is easily the best pizza I've had in Maine, and as good as anything I've had in New Haven or New York. Sightseeing
Footbridge Beach is technically part of Ogunquit Beach, but without being quite as overrun and crowded as if you went down to Ogunquit Center. The parking lot is smaller, but you're so close to the beach that you can walk, or drive down, drop off the family & beach gear, park at Compass Pointe, and then walk the 15-minutes to join the rest of the family. It's the same beautiful beach as Ogunquit beach (you can literally walk down to Ogunquit beach from Footbridge beach), but with less people and more room to spread out. It's the best beach in the area--my family doesn't go anywhere else.
