"Come visit our farm store where you will find fresh organic produce from the farm, beer, wine & kombucha on tap, grab and go, or stay a while foods made in our farm kitchen as well as eggs, dairy, meat, grains, seafood, coffee, health, and wellness products." They have a deli and baked goods. The store highlights Oregon-grown products such as hazelnuts, olive oil, wine, beer, meats, cheeses, vegetables. So if you want to cook dinner and need ingredients this is a great place to shop. On Friday nights they have Happy Hour which is a fun weekly event and good dinner option. A menu is created just for the event by the resident chef. Closed Mondays.

My favorite coffee roaster in the world! Their Peruvian Femino roast is out of this world. This is a destination for coffee lovers and exemplifies what Portland is famous for. Just a 15 minute drive from Teaspoon Suite. View the roasting room and enjoy the tasting room. Limited seating during the rainy season, but a pleasant outdoor patio for when the weather is fair. On Fridays Caravan hosts free cuppings: 9:30-10AM "We invite you to gather with us to cup two coffees side by side. We will explore the fragrance, aroma, acidity, body and tasting profiles of each cup." Certified Fair-Trade , Organic, Mon-Thurs: 7 AM – 5 PM Friday 7-3 Sat 9-3, closed Sundays

A half-hour drive from Teaspoon Suite. Both a store, bakery and restaurant and worth visiting if you are a fan of Bob's Red Mill. The restaurant is great for breakfast or lunch and offers plenty of delicious goodies for everyone including a selection of gluten-free items. I like stopping by to pick up gf cookies, and breads from the bakery. Last time I was in I saw Bob himself! I have so much respect for this man who gave his company to his employees on his 81st birthday. Employee owned and local, with a global reach. Our local diner. Seems to be a favorite among our guests. Steak and Eggs is on the menu as is all of the traditional diner-fare. Really yummy, locally sourced food. Oregon grown, Portland Tea Company. At Teaspoon Suite AirBnB we love a good cup of tea. This is worth a visit and while in the NW of Portland check out some of our other favorite tea rooms. There are 2 locations worldwide: two in Portland, and one in South Korea! The Southeast location on SE Washington Street is double the size of the Thurman tasting room. At the SE locatoin, guests will be able to view our production team through our glass window (typically running tea Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) as well as the tea lab where Head Teamaker Tony Tellin works with his team doing sample cuppings and tasting tea garden lots as they arrive from origin fresh after harvest season.

Portland Tea is just AS amazing as Portland Coffee in my opinion. Townsends is a locall- owned company started by an University of Oregon grad Matt Thomas. He had the rad idea to perfect the art of brewing Kombucha and his multimillion dollar company is a huge success! You may have seen the cute little brown jars of Brew Dr. kombucha in your area. Matt Thomas started Townsend’s Tea Company with the idea of serving great teas in a casual teahouse setting. Based in Portland, Brew Dr. produces a line of 100 percent raw and organic kombucha made using high-quality tea, herbs and roots. Many of the teas are grown right here in the Willamette Valley! If you love gardens as I do this is a must-see. It's so calming to wander the paths of this peaceful pint-sized garden. How they fit a large reflection pool, waterfall, teahouse and much more in this one-city-block-sized garden is amazing. My favorite time to visit is in January/February during Chinese New Year when there are red lanterns hung throughout the garden. Lion dances are a popular aspect to each New Year celebration. Free tours daily. And, definitely, budget in time for tea in the gorgeous teahouse! During a visit to Lan Su Chinese Garden, the Teahouse in the Tower of Cosmic Reflections offers visitors the ability to sit, relax, and enjoy tea while gazing into the garden.

The original Tao of Tea teahouse is located on 3430 Southeast Belmont Street in Portland, while there other location is in the Lan Su Chinese garden. The SE Belmont location is, 'home to an avid tea loving community, this international teahouse is a landmark in Portland. It is built with many natural and sustainable materials, such as bamboo, reclaimed wood, and raw stone. Visit us for an extensive variety of teas, international foods, and warm hospitality. We value serving tea to our guests as a way of practicing a treasured art form and helping to connect cultures. When practiced from the heart, the art of tea has the power to transform the mundane."

This is such a cute tea house! The entrance is like something out of a Harry Potter film. Enter through a red caboose. The room expands. For over a decade, Tea Chai Té has been a joyful staple for Portland area tea drinkers and visitors alike. We're the folks frequently spotted on multiple seasons of Portlandia. And, if you mention you visited a wonderful tea shop in the Portland area, your friends are likely to respond with, "Oh, are they the ones in the caboose?"

As an east-coaster who had access to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other places with vast art collections it's the one thing I miss. However, the Portland Art Museum helps to quench that need to connect with art from around the globe. Be sure to see their wall of glass art, Pacific NW native art and Impressionists collection. My family enjoys Fridays at the Museum the best when admission is free after 5PM and there are activities and sometimes live music. It's also home to the NW Film Center and annual Portland International Film Festival. Closed Mondays, open 10-5 every other day.

Great for families! And, great for a Portland date night. OMSI After Dark Nights at the museum for the 21-and-over crowd filled with food, drink, and science fun! There are over 200 hands-on exhibits. The physics room is our favorite as is the room with vacuum tubes which suck up small ping pong balls on routes the kids create using various tubes. The IMAX theather and Planetarium are also fun.

Best hiking spot within a 10-minute drive of Teaspoon. There is a covered picnic area and popular wedding venue (for those who know about it). Our favorite wedding spot on site is under a giant cedar tree that has little benches under it. "Originally developed as a demonstration site for woodland owners to showcase forest management and silviculture, we are open to the general public, dawn to dusk, year round; barring private events and other special closures. With 2.5 miles of hiking trails (some with self guiding interpretive signs), sheltered picnic areas, meadows, streams and forests it is the perfect place to spend the day in the woods!"

Early Risers: this is one of the area's best bird watching spots. Great for photographers! Check the daily sightings list in the Visitors Center. Indoor SkyDiving. "rrive at iFLY Portland, and get started by putting on your gear and going through a specialized training session from an expert flight instructor. You’ll learn how to safely float in an 800-horsepower vertical wind tunnel that generates a wall-to-wall cushion of air - commonly used by professional skydivers - without having to jump from a plane. Just about anyone can fly, and no experience is necessary. Once you're inside the enclosed space of the flight chamber, a tunnel operator slowly increases the wind speed until you and your instructor are airborne. Feel the adrenaline rush as you float at wind speeds reaching 130 to 175 mph (209 to 282 kph). "

Maybe call them for recommendations in this regard. They share the same parking lot that the Oregon Zoo uses and the World Forestry Center so it can get busy. If you can manage it on a weekday it's much less crowded and a delightful museum.

Getting Around
Our Trimet Bus Stop is located on Railroad Street at the intersection of SW Washington Street. Please visit: https://trimet.org/schedules/r094.htm for more details Runs to downtown Portland on the NW side of town near Pioneer Square. Pioneer Square is a great shopping district and .8 a mile from Powells City of Books (the epicenter of Portland in our opinion). Pioneer Square has a visitors info center and tours leading from that area. The Pioneer Place Mall is a fun mall with a movie theater at the top. It's fun to take the skybridge across the road and escalators up and down the levels. https://www.pioneerplace.com/en.html
