“Turtle Rock in Irvine is one of our favorite mini hikes. There is a park in Irvine called Chaparral Park located next to Bonita Canyon Elementary School. If you park in the Elementary School parking lot and hike to the top of the hill named "Turtle Rock Viewpoint" you will get some amazing views of multiple cities in Orange County. Great spot for sunset. Usually not too many people there. about 75% paved by sidewalk, but once the sidewalk ends you can continue up the hill and that is where the best views are. ”

“Rich in both Irvine Ranch lore and natural wonders, Bommer Canyon beckons walkers, hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts to stroll past ancient oak and sycamore groves and rough rock outcrops. Much like the city’s Quail Hill Loop Trail, specific trails in this area are open daily for self-guided hikes from dawn to dusk; however, other areas within Bommer can only be accessed through guided programs and do require pre-registration. Monthly Wilderness Access Days are available to allow hikers and bikers the chance to explore the network of outstanding trails and views of the area. A wide variety of fun, outdoor activities are offered by the City of Irvine in partnership with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy. letsgooutside.org”
