“KBC's chef and proprietor Kelsey Barnard Clark is a born and raised southerner from Dothan, Alabama. She got her start in the food industry as a mere middle schooler with a baking obsession and did her first catering gig at 16. Kelsey left the deep south for a few years to learn from world-class chefs at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. She fine-tuned her skills working for Manhattan's top restaurants Cafe Boulud and Dovetail before returning to her roots in Alabama to launch her business, now known as KBC. Kelsey's passion is whole food, prepared classically and plated with big city flair. Come see us and we promise you'll TASTE and SEE the difference. ”

Botanical Garden
“The Dothan Area Botanical Gardens is a fifty acres piece of land that consists of nature trails, cultivated gardens and wooded landscape. The gardens are ran by a group of volunteers and have been open to the public for nearly twenty years. There is so much to see and enjoy here that you will easily lose track of time as you are busy exploring. There is the vegetable garden that provides food to the local food bank, the gazebo and love gate which are often used for weddings and the outdoor classroom that is hidden away from all except nature.”

“Providing diners with true family-style Southern cooking, Zack’s Family Restaurant is reputed for serving the types of food that your grandma used to make (if your Grandma was from the southern states of the USA, that is). So next time you’re in Dothan and feeling a bit nostalgic for that fried chicken or baked ham, pop into Zack’s to get your fill. Every lunchtime there is a different daily buffet featuring six different meat options and around a dozen sides. Taking Monday as an example, diners can enjoy fried catfish, baked chicken, fried chicken fingers, fried chicken, country fried steak and hamburger steak with anything from dry lima beans to mac ‘n’ cheese on the side. Those with a sweet tooth will be pleased to know that there’s also a daily dessert buffet too”

“known for its hearty portions and fabulous selection of craft beers, the Old Mill Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily, but is closed on Sundays. For a traditional Alabama-style dinner, order a selection of appetizers such as the fried cheese sticks, blue crab claws and Old Mill gumbo. Then for main course, choose between the array of steak, seafood and chicken dishes. Perfect for diners that can’t quite work out what they fancy, the Old Mill Restaurant features a few combination plates, including a steak and shrimp platter, a steak and grouper platter and a steak and crab cake platter. A perfect restaurant for taking the family or a large group of friends, the atmosphere here is always warm and welcoming.”
